My niece wants her own phone, the disney mobile, and she is adorable so I am inclined to purchase it for her, but is that just a waste at 2 and a half. She will be 3 in May and is very advanced for her age( I could be biased though)

No she just likes it! She likes talking on the phone and she lives in CA and I live in CT and I miss her alot, so this way I could call her anytime I want. I dont know if my sister would appreciate that though.

She talks very well! She loves the phone and is a very careful little girl. Well maybe it is too young.

Although your intention to spoil your niece is perfectly normal think about this. If you buy her a mobile at 2 & 1/2 she will probably expect you [**her favourite aunt] to buy her all the things her mom/dad won't or can't buy her. Maybe the computer at 6 and the car at 16? I spoiled l my kids too, but now that they are 16 and 11 I am paying for it not only with money but high expectations for every "new" thing that comes out. Can't you just get her a play mobile? Who will pay the bill for the real mobile? No matter how advanced she is - getting her the mobile at this age is a waste, who will she call? What if she loses it? or drops it in the toilet to see if it will still ring? have fun and enjoy your adorable niece.

Why does she need a cell phone? Does she do a lot of business traveling? Is she constantly away from home and in need of a link between her and her family? Does she conduct business on the phone a lot?

THAT IS SO STUPID!!! What is a 3 year going to do with a cell phone?! Is she going to call all of her other 3 year old friends who have cell phones?!? (yeah right) I say wait until she is 11 or 12!

no she is too young for a phone she will be old enough soon and than you will be get off the phone you stay on the phone to much so let the baby be a baby. you could get her a toy phone

you can go to the disney store and buy the ones that have the characters on them and you press the buttons to talk to the character
