Ha ha... don't listen to the haters!!! I would recommend the Sony Ericsson W810. It is an excellent MP3 player with great sound. It has expandable memory and you can fit a huge amount of songs on it. Plus it has the FM radio to boot! The camera is probably the best 2.0 on the market right now, you can blow the pics up to 8X10 with minimal noise. So, YES! it is worth the money when you consider how much a phone by itself plus a MP3 player seperate would cost you. I use the Sony S710 for my music needs and absolutley love it!!! Hope that helps :)

I think that in order to answer your question accurately, you need to ask yourself a few things first. First off, what form factor do you want your phone to have (flip, bar, swivel)? Next, What are the most important features (storage space, camera resolution)? And in final, how much do you want to have to pay for this phone. I personally own a W600i and love it. However, the phone is limited to 256Mb of storage space. Assuming that you didn't have other bits of data on it taking up space such as pictures and games and whatnot, that will get you about 85 songs. However, as the phone is equipped with a 1.3Mp camera, i really don't see someone using this device soley for music and phone purposes. Next up, there was mention of the S710(a). This phone is a swivel phone just as the W600i however it's a bit larger. The main differences in these two phone are size of the unit itself and the fact that the S710 has a memory card slot for memory expansion. Due to the larger size of the phone, it has a larger screen which to me, in most cases is a good thing. As for the expansion slot; From the last time I checked, it only allowed cards up to 128Mb. The problem with this is the fact that it's only half of the memory capacity of the W600i. I am not positive but I believe that this may have changed with a firmware update thus allowing higher capacity cards to be used. Moving on to the W800i. This phone basically takes the cake in features though your wallet will definitely feel the difference in prices. The only perosnal downside to this phone is the fact that it is a candy bar style phone. Aside from having a memory card slot for expansion, this phone also has a much higher resolution than any of the other prior models. In final, Cingular is now offering a newer model that is free to new subscribers. This is the W300i which is a flip style phone. I don't know a whole lot about it but I am under the impression that it is a 1.3Mp camera with all the same features as the W600i.

Buying these phones will cost you approx. as follows:

W300i - With Cingular contract, free. Websites, +/- $200

W600i - Websites, +/- $150-$230

S710(rare) - +/- $150-$200

W800i - +/- $300-$350
