I know this girl who's really nice and reckon she'd make a nice friend. Problem is, I don't know what to talk to her about, and when I see her there is a lot of akward silence. What are some suggestions on talking to new people and starting good conversations?

if you are sincere in wanting to get to know her, ask a lot of questions and expound on the answer for instance: "do you like sports?" yes I do "like what? volleyball. "did you ever play?" yes in junior high " is it the competiton you like or the teamwork?" and so on. questions are a good way to show you have an interest. I just gave you the key my friend, use it wisely to unlock many doors.

I find that sometimes when i meet a new person the best thing to do is go see a movie. That way you aren't really talkin durin the movie and then afterwards you can have so much to talk about. Plus you might have inside jokes forever.
