The other day I was talking with some of my friends, and Tony Bennett came up. I was like, "Who is he? A politician?" and one guy gave me this incredelous look like he didn't believe his ears! I was like, "Well, I don't know who he is, sorry, geez!"
I know he's a singer, very old, but man is it that wrong for me to not know who he is? WTF?!!!

The reason I'm asking it on here, instead of looking it up on, say, Wikipedia, is because I want to know if it's so wrong to not know who he is like they guy thought it was!

Would it not have been less work to simply type his name in a search engine, rather than all that?

Tony Bennett is an outstanding singer, who, even at his advanced age, can outsing any of the crop of "singers" that are out there now. He actually sings; he doesn't scream, shout, moan, groan and do all of the other schticks that performers do now to cover up their woeful lack of talent.
Maybe you should be a little more in tune with the world around you.

No it is not wrong for you to not know who Tony Bennet is, if you are fairly young. Have you ever heard that classic song I Left My Heart In San Francisco? Your parents probably have heard the song if not your grandparents. I have a place you can check out to find out more about Mr. Bennet if that is what you would like to do. I only know about him because I am from around the era. I didn't quite make that generation I however, really like music all kinds and from every era and he can sing. Here is the site to go to, for more information on him.

I assume people should know about current events. Broaden your horizons. He is a well know singer that just turned 83 years old a couple of months ago. His famous signature song is called "I left my heart in San Francisco". He was discover by Bob Hope. To this day he still performs in clubs, and still sings very well.

I think Tony Bennett, although "old", has done enough that people of all ages should know who he is. Sort of like the Beetles, or the late Frank Sinatra.

He's a very famous singer and is associated around the same time as Frank Sinatra (know him?). He's most famous for singing "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". Great performer!

Tony Bennet is best known for singing a style known as "standards." He is much of the same ilk as Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, and Dean Martin.
Tony is known for his well approached smooth delivery in his music.
Take a moment to listen to some of those noted above, you might like it. granted it is nothing like today's music, but I still like it. (I am a little older than you though. :) )

Tony Bennett was a singer famous in the 1950s and 1960s. 'Fly Me to the Moon' is probably the song he is most famous for. No it is not wrong for you not to know as you are probably too young to know anything about him.
