While it's hard to answer your main question quickly or even completely (particularly here), an answer can be "Okay... and be ready for all that implies when you go full-time".
To answer your next question: Yes, you probably can be fired. Unless you work for a city or other goverment that's passed protections (there aren't many), or a company w/a clear policy (there aren't many either), there are no basic protections or laws for gender identity. Check out http://www.transgenderlaw.org/
There are many transgender resources out there; maybe start with http://www.ifge.org/, http://www.transsexual.org/, and even http://www.myhusbandbetty.com/ (for perspectives for your girlfriend/SO and for yourself).
The euphoria you're likely feeling now that you're beginning to come out can be overwhelming... overwhelmingly good, and overwhelming. I would advise you to do lots of research before taking any action, continue counseling (based on another of your questions, it sounds like you're going; I think counseling is good), and be really clear about what you want and what it will take to get it.
(p.s.: I would have written directly, but you don't allow that. There's a link in my profile to write me if you want :)

I think the first thing you should do is find out if your company is a equal opportunity's employer, if so losing your job shouldn't be a problem, however your work colleges could be a little different,
I've found along the way that some People say their cool with it, but say the opposite to other people behind your back. That's just human nature i guess. If you do work for a equal opportunity's employer and you do get a hard time from other members of staff you should have the law on your side, so then sue their a sses off girl. I'd say because you work mostly with females you'll be fine, I've found although some males are cool with me being t/s a lot aren't, but females different story their cool, good luck.

Definitely check your company's anti-discrimination policy. Some cities and states it's a protected status also. Unfortunately, odds are you're not protected at all. Check the people that you work with. If they're really liberal and stuff you might be safe. There are conservatives that do discriminate against transpeople. It can easily get you fired. You might need to change employers to a more accepting place. Some people transition in their personal life, quit their job and get the legal changes, and then get back into the workforce under their new identity. It's called stealth. I've been very out at my previous employer, and depending on the people at my new employer I may be very out there. It is possible to be an out transperson in the workplace.

A lot of how it will be accepted at your work will depend on the company itself. Have you been there long? Do you trust a manager or colleague enough to speak to them about this first. It is a difficult step but as long as you are still able to do your job I don't see why it should make any difference. I really would suggest discussing it with someone at work first so at least you have some background support. Good Luck!

I'd do a lot more research on the company you work for and what there and your coworker attitudes are first....You don't want this to turn into an unpleasant situation. Good Luck to you .

A man looks mighty funny in womens clothing. God made you a man so be a man. Take it up with God. He will straighten you out. The Bible says that is an abomination to the Lord. Cry out to God because you need His help. Nothing is too big for God to handle. The devil has messed you up. Kick him out of your life. You need God's Holy Spirit to come in you and change you. Read the Bible and you will see what is wrong with you. It is a mirror that you look into and see what you look like, Try it but ask God to speak to your heart when you read it. I am serious. All of us are messed up in some way until we are born again in the spirit.
