Ultimately, life IS pointless, but not worthless. In the scheme of things, you and I do not matter, in fact if we awoke tomorrow and half the population of the world were dead, it would make no real difference (it's happened before, and will probably happen again).
The only "purpose" of life is self-perpetuation. There is, however, a great deal of fun to be had, and of good feeling to be achieved by helping other people make the most of their lives. Go help an old man across the street, or teach a neighbour how binary works, or cook a fine roast pheasant meal for friends, or entertain some strangers in a bar by drinking more Bacardi 101 than they have ever seen anyone drink before...
Carpe Diem!

There is no pre-ordained meaning to life. Only a temporary meaning....to decrease pain and increase pleasure, beyond that, all else is lost to oblivion.
In a thousand years, no one will even know that you ever existed. Oh you might be a name on a tombstone or inked on a family tree, but even that will eventually turn to dust.
You make a difference to your children and those around you, but in a few generations, everyone will have forgotten you and your accomplishments. The exceptions are the Hitlers, and Alexander the Greats of the world.
So does that render life meaningless....hmmm, yeah, except in the short term...like i said....decrease pain and increase pleasure...that's it.

I do.
Before I start, to me one day equals one point.
Yesterday, I was a point less. Ironically, that led to prepare for my final exam. In school. Same with collage.
Today, again I am a point less. Ironically, that too leads to prepare for my promotion.
Everyday, being a point less has led to do something of sense, or nonsense. (Nonsense has sense in it, or is it an "illusion")
But one thing is for sure, since bygone are many a countless number of days, I have lost count of it, so weak a mathematician, but nonetheless remember to call life pointless.

No, I don't, provided that one uses it properly. If you use your life to help others, then it is one of the biggest points possible. If you use it just to make as much money as possible and get as much stuff as you can, then it is pointless if you don't realise your errors.
You sound sort of depressed. I suggest that you see a doctor if you need to.

life is what you choose to make of it...as cliche as it sounds. i know i was made for something bigger then the small town i was born in. i have discovered the own meanings in my life. life is never pointless-because no matter how hard to try to be staid, something will always change your perspective----and you will no doubt change someone elses by simply taking up space. you need to question the world in which you live to understand what you are.
my opinion has NOTHING to do with religion----if anyone wants to try to interject that in my meaning...i'm not trying to tell you to find god because that repluses me..i personally think that, if anything, religion is useless.

Life is similar to a joke ( not that its funny)
but when someone tells a joke,
if you are not familar with the subject matter, you just don't get it,
no matter how smart you are.
when someone is living life, you have to get familar with what God says about
1: the purpose of man
(Ecclesiastes 12:13) please read it
2: things that make people happy.
Thats all thoughout, but esp read.

aslo,
even if you are doing everything right, sometimes we all get illnesses,
maybe even depression
if this lingers for you, it may be the course of wisdom to talk to a doctor.
I hope you find a reason to smile today!
someone was thinking of you....

LIfe is an exercise in futility. At the moment of death everything that has happened in life everything that we have done, good or evil, becomes null and void. We are born with no choice in when, where or to whom. We spend 18 years being conditioned to a particular way of life that we have NO say in. We live in a society that doesn't give a rats @ss about anyting but maintaining the status quo. And you die, usually with no say in how, why where or when (accept in suicide cases). That being said...all life is...is just a series of things to distract us while we wait to die...

Depends on if you personally think it's pointless or now. I don't think there's any overarching meaning to life but we can still create our own invidivudal meanings.
