The very best gift giving ideas I've come up with came from www.thinkthoughtful.com.
I always try to do something personal, but I'm not creative! I guess a painted rock isn't romantic...my husband loves tools. I thought this was horrible-I wouldn't want kitchen appliances, why would I give tools?! He told me that Home Depot is for him what the jewelry store is for me. It makes his heart sing!! So, I go with that and he is like a little boy on Christmas morning. It's about what makes it wonderful for that other person. Good luck and have fun!

Buy your fiance a few novels or movies with characters that have his first name. Use the search engines at Amazon.com or imdb.com to help you there.

Or, make a compilation tape of songs with his name in it. This will be easiest if his name is John/Johnny, Tom/Tommy, Michael, Joey, or Lou. If his name is Aloysius, you might be out of luck.

You can also make a compilation of songs that might point to your wedding night, such as "Tonight's the Night" or "Let's Get It On"--or maybe that should wait until the day before your wedding!

Give your fiance's mother a dozen roses and a than you card.
That works better on your fiance's birthday, but I suppose it will work as a Christmas as well.

INspirational music that is different from what you usually buy... same for books, clothing, and just about everything else.

as an example... when you only buy rock music on cd, buy something with a spiritual theme instead... like dolphin music, etc.
