Why popcorn of all things? I know nachos, hot dogs, pretzels, and all sorts of candy are also customary, but popcorn seems to be the biggest snack consumed while watching movies (both in theaters and at home). Anyone know why?

Because Crisps and sweetie wrappers make to much noise when watching the film. So popcorn in a bucket and your hand just goes into the bucket no noise

I was thinking maybe because its easy to eat, just reach and eat. other things, like for example Nachos, you have to get the chip dip it in the cheese, make sure it doesn't drip on you, and then eat it.Popcorn is just easier.

LEAST EXSPENSIVE PRODUCT WITH THE HIGHEST MARKUP. ALSO TOO, IT'S WARM UPON SEVRING AND ON A CHILLY EVENING THAT BECOMES A GREAT TREAT. I ALSO WOULD CONSIDER THE FACT THAT IT'S VERY FILLING.
