People say don't judge a book by its cover or they say stuff like don't judge people before you know them etc.

But isn't this all just a bunch of BS?

Don't we all make judgements every day in life and it's normal. Isn't that just politically correct ********??

I mean, when you go to a job interview, don't you dress nice to make a good impression?

Why do companies like to hire pretty girls to sit at the front desks? Why do they want their employees to look clean and neat?

Doesn't that all have to do with people being judges in every day life?

So why is it that people still go around and kid themselves by saying "don't judge" etc??

Everyone is going to judge that is human nature. I try not to, but I find myself doing it daily. Practice not perfection. If I practice what I preach. I will continue getting better. I will never get it perfect. I feel the sayings "practice what you preach" "don't judge a book by its cover" are reminders of what I should be practicing. If anyone ever accomplished being perfect. Wouldn't the rest of there life be pretty boring?

Noticing a difference, or finding humor in another is not necessarily judging. Judging has to do with finding something acceptable or inacceptable. I find all people acceptable because you can't help to whom you were born. However I have every right to judge a person's actions based on how they treat others. It is a defense mechanism we all have. It doesn't mean that we are the prosecution, it just helps us in future dealings of people with volatile natures.

We shouldn't say "don't judge me". It should really be "don't persecute me".

I agree with you wholeheartedly We have stereotypes already implanted from our childhood as to what to expect and how to behave in regard to other people. We have other people's expectations that we feel we have to live up to. So yes, we judge whether it is conscious or unconscious. To say that we don't make judgments everyday of the week is BS.

Yes, there's a book out about it. It's called Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking

People definitely judge others by the way they look. When I was 17 I had my nose fixed. It really changed how people reacted to me.

yah i completley agree, but i think wat that saying means is too not form a definite opinion on a first impression...which is hard not to do, but everyone still tries to make good first impressions anyway, because they kno it will be judged.
