no they are not truthful they only a catchy jewelry for young girl...lol they dont work. i remember own one when i was younger but i threw it a wat 2 days after i got it so it was soooo fake.
The thermochromic liquid crystal in the ring is sensitive to the amount of acid in your skin, so the only way it might change is, if you've just washed your hands, or if you've just put on some hand lotion. it doesn't really tell the mood of the person! It's just a chemical reaction, along with the temperature of your finger depending on how warm or cold it is
Dark blue: Happy, romantic or passionate
Blue: Calm or relaxed
Blue-green: Somewhat relaxed
Green: Normal or average
Amber: A little nervous or anxious
Gray: Very nervous or anxious
Black: Stressed

Mood rings are based on the heat it's getting from you body. lets hope you're normal! lol just kidding

Sort of, they work by changing color when your body changes temperature, they are very inacurite, but they work to some degree, for instance if you get angrey you get warmer, if you are calm you get cooler, the people who make the rings know this and tell you that the color that they are when they are cold is calmness and the hot color anger

It all has to do with body heat...When you are warm, you are in a great mood. When you are cold you are in a dark depression, according to the ring anyway.. But they are still neat.
