Personality is more important, and sometimes it's the personality that makes the looks attractive even when they aren't. I'm not sure if that makes sense... ;)

I'm not sure it is *quite* that simple.
Yes, personality is for most people I think the more important aspect - BUT - if someone REALLY does notthing for you at all physically, are you going to want to spend time getting to know someone to see if they have a fab personality?
It would be my guess that folks saying looks are totally unimportant, would not perhaps be viewing every single person in their age range as a potential mate. The tramp on the corner may well be a wonderful person, are you going to take the time to get to know him - or walk on by?
Ditto the person with a lazy eye and a limp, are you going to see if he wants to go out with you this evening so you can see if his personality is right for you?
Both looks AND personality have their place. Personality is what endures, but looks need to be at least "not unpleasant to the beholder" if the personality is ever to get a chance to make itself known.

Da personality is more important than the looks definitely. Who would want a friend who looks really stunning but has a very bad personality?? But a little bit of looks won't hurt, though!! ; )

Everyone notices a good looking male/female. But if that good looking person is empty inside it can only last so long. Personality is everything! I myself love humor and that is what has always grabbed my attention. My first husband was a 'bad boy' motocross addict with little to say that didn't have something to do with him. 7 years later I met this crazy cowboy that had me laughing so hard on our first date I was crying and sore. And now 5 years later, same-thing. But we also enjoy getting up before the sun comes up with our pot of coffee and talking, about anything and everything, this is someone that I can see sitting out on our deck watching the grand kids, still holding hands with plenty to say to one another.

Personality. Trust me a pretty girl that has a cracked personality can set your car on fire and paint the c word all over your house.
I'm afraid to say the c word. I saw a girl lose an eye for calling another girl that during an argument in high school.
She pinned her down and squished it with her thumb. Both were pretty girls.
I'm not saying that all pretty girls are crazy, just that all crazy women aren't exactly ugly.

A little of both, but personality mostly, because honestly someone with a good personality tends to look better than one with a bad personality.
