I am going to a rodeo tomorrow and im really nervous. What can i do to calm my nerves? Are there any exercises i can do before my run to keep me and my horse relaxed?

I can understand that! It helps me to decide that what will be , will be, that I did my best to be prepared and after that there's no point in worrying about it. (I have to tell me that a lot!). For your nerves, if you trail ride, how about a nice ride with your horse (they always calm me). Other options- go fall clean the barn or anything else that will work of some nervous energy- (a run is good, but for me - I like to do something usefull). Hope it helps!

Take a reallly big breath hold it for a sec or 2 then slowly let it out, trust me it works I do it all the time befor my shows, and you need to be as calm and relaxed as possible bfor your show or you might encounter problems, if your nervous and tense your horse will be to, if your calm, relaxed, loose, your horse will be to!

My Aunt used to do barrel races and she always brought sugar cubes with her to keep her horse calm before the show.

About your nerves...there isn't much you can do there. Just relax you will do fine. It is more fun than anything.

don't worry about it, i know if i was out there i would be nervous to. but there's really nothing to worry about.. and don't worry about your horse getting nervous. he wont be, unless you are. he can feel your body movements and the stiffness of your body. so he knows if he should be nervous or not.

They say to take deep, slow breaths. I think you breath in through your nose and breath out through your mouth.
