I completely agree with you. I stopped watching both channels years ago. MTV2 plays some videos, but it's the same ones over and over. Although I do watch Vh1 Classics. It's older videos around the clock. I don't mind it because I love the 80's music. But for those who want the videos from todays music...fuse or much music are the only options.

Sadly, it is all about the almighty dollar. It is much cheaper to throw one of these stupid reality shows together than to produce music videos. For the price of one music video, you can shoot three or four reality program episodes.
Another contributing factor is that the artists just are not putting out as many videos as they used to. Just a few years ago, a band would not even think about putting out a new single without a flashy video to accompany it. Today, with the popularity of the I-pod, and satellite radio, the video is just not that important to an artist's success anymore.

They've come up with too many tv shows so they should basically rename the channel because most of the shows like Laguna Beach and Parental Control have absolutly NOTHING to do with music, so yeah.

Its all about the money at the bottom line behind the bands that are being pushed, when they do play music.
The reality shows bring in higher advertising dollars to those stations, and higher rates of advertiser success.

MTV is no longer MUSIC TV. It now appeares to be MEDIA TV. It has been hijacked by marketing. If you have a premimum cable service you can get MTV2 which has more videos.

No I don't! It was better in the 1980's when they actually had music videos! I loved it back then!
