Well a few years ago I wouldn't have been able to answer this question because I had so many brilliant films, Shawshank Redemption, Ferris Bullers Day Off, The Princess Bride. But along came a film with everything and it turned out to be my favourate film ever, Lord Of The Rings - Return Of The King (extended version)

Probably A River Runs Through It. But I can't forget Lonesome Dove, Last of the Mohicans, Bull Durham, and Ghostbusters. Oh, and The Natural.

Wow. I'm shocked at how many "pop" movies are on this list, and how few "classic" movies are there.

My favorite of all time has to be Casablanca. It's got everything -- Macho man (Bogey) hot, strong woman (Bergman), Comedy, exotic location, intregue, nazis, patriotism, an amazing ending, perfect dialogue, historical importance (as a film).

Pulp Fiction is also up there, along with "Garden State" (which I think really represents the ennui and self-realization of late generation xers... it will be recognized as a classic in a few decates).
Also Coen Bros. films (O Brother... is my favorite, but Lebowski, Hudsucker, Miller's Crossing, are all up there)
Kurosawa films -- "Seven Samurai" "Rashomon" "Ikiru"
Favorite fluff -- "Clue." Gotta see it.

It has to be 'It's a wonderful life' with James Stewart and Donna Reed, it's been on the TV nearly every Christmas since I was a child (and that's too many years ago for me to reveal). But Clarence the angel who has to win his wings, and every time you hear a bell ring it means an angel has won them..............aawwwhhh it's great. The story of George Bailey, look it up this year, bet it brings a tear to you eyes.

Enjoy
