Iv heard that they wont be bothered with the toys, but i really dont care.
I want to get him some fun, educating toys. Iv already got a few fisher price toys (think their great),
Anyone got any other ideas?

Get them toys that light up and make noises. They also like toys that they can put into their mouths. Leap frog is another good brand other than fisher price. I always make sure to get them something that they can learn from. They also have soft books that they can suck on and some pages have different feels to them like one is soft and furry, some pages also make like a crinkling noise (like when you crumble paper or plastic). They also like those weeble wobbles.
Oh my son loves this toy and still plays with it and he's 2. The toy is like a plush soft plastic toy car that makes noises when you squeeze it. It's called cushy cushion police car and theres also a fire truck by playskool. Hope this helps.

The Fisher Price Learning House is outstanding. It grows with the child. My daughter got it at 9 months and she still plays with it HEAVILY at almost three. It's the only toy she plays with every single day. It's also good for a boy or a girl. Also, a great toy for more than one child to play with.
Anything Leapfrog... The baby Tad dolls are really cute and educational. My daughter loves her first leappad. I think the age recommendation on that is 12 months and up.
Baby Einstein movies are outstanding. Actually all of the Disney Einstein products are phenomenal. My daughter LOVED to watch these while I cooked dinner. It gave me something for her to do that I didn't feel guilty about leaving her to fend for herself.
V-tech makes some really neat educational toys.

I've bought my baby who will be 6 months just after christmas the Littletouch LeapPad by Leapfrog (plus a couple of the books to go with it) as it's supposed to be educational and grow with the child until they are about 3, so it shouldn't out grow her in 5 minutes, plus it's something I can do with her. I've also bought some of the fisher price peek-a-blocks and roll-a-rounds as I thought they may help with her senses (sight, sound, touch), and some of the things I've bought have flashing lights which I know my daughter likes. I haven't finished my christmas shopping yet, but other things from leapfrog and fisher price look quite good, and so do some of the things from little einstien. Also bought some clothes in the next size up to save money for after christmas.

Clothes and age appropriate books are always useful and good education. Try to find toys that are interactive for tha age group. Most toys say on the box what age they are designed for. A lot of babies like to play with a ball, about the size of their head or a little bigger. light weight and bright colored. Don't buy anything small enough fo them to choke on. Stay away from anything made of that nerf type material, my kids still bite into those and eat them, and they are two and three years.

Make the next selection that the parents will like, that way you can be assured that the child is actually playing with them and learning. To give a learning toy is only good, when one or both of the parents take on the role of Teacher.

The Leap Frog Learning Table is awesome!! I've seen it the cheapest at Zeller's, but it's on sale right now at Toys R Us. Perfect for kids that age. It's on my daughter's Christmas List :)

At 10 months, anything is educational. I don't see the need for all these "high-tech, light up, plug-it-in-the-tv, press the button and hear the voice" kind of toys.
I think toys should be simple yet fun and educational. Blocks, ride-on toys, etc. Toys for a 10 month old should be simple, just like 10 month olds are.
Here are some ideas that I think would be the best you could go with..hope they help :-)

At 10 months they do not understand Christmas. Just get something cuddley..and something that has a big box as well, you will find that the box is the favorite toy. Take pictures!

Blocks or anything that stacks. Cars and trucks for boys--the big ones with handles on the tops. Think ahead also. It is good to buy things they are not yet ready for, but will be in the coming year so they have things to grow in to.
