How come I can always tell if Iistening to a black man on the radio, telephone, television (if I don't see the screen obviously) and in general. Do black recognise that we are white on the phone if we called them on a mobile to sell them something or any situation where they don't know who it is personally?

Yes we can tell the difference. Yes I can tell the difference. However, sometimes I am wrong. And yes I have disguised my voice and will use my white voice when trying to get through red tape on the phone.

Yes with me i can tell. Its somthing in the voice that i know im talking to a white person, or to a black person (even when they are talking proper), I dont't know its very weird. Now when we get to Mexicans or Asians, I can't figure it out as quickly.

Ya, I've noticed that as well.
I've been wrong before to.
Up north its not as easy to tell but in the south
you can almost tell just by the attitude and the accent.
Southern WF are the easiest to recognize I think.

Each ethnicity seems to have some recognizable cues in their tone of voice, pronunciation, etc.
One can almost always recognize an Indian, Latino, Caucasian or Asian speaker just by hearing them too...

I live in Canada an I think that black people here in canada pretty much sound like they are. In the U.S. they may sound white because that all speak such awful english..

I can tell too most of the time. they have a distinguish accent. just like how they pronounce the word ask. And some even say finna. LOL

yea.. even if you know that the person on the phone is black and speaks PROPER, he/she will always slip up on some slang! lol! and its instinct that we know that its a white person we are talking to
