I am a Heathen but interested in learning about other Pagan paths. I have an interest in Druidry, recently went to a Druid ritual and would like to learn more. Any serious recomendations welcome.

I would appreiciate it if christians would leave this one alone. I HAVE read the bible as I was a christian. It was while I was going through the old testament I realised there was so much terror that 'god' wreaked on earth that I chose a peaceful and more spiritual religion for my needs. I specifically asked for serious recomendations.

Several authors I would recommend for a wide spectrum of reading to learn about Paganism would be, in no particular order:
Scott Cunningham
D. J. Conway
Patricia Telesco
Margot Adler
Silver Ravenwolf
Raymond Buckland
Ted Andrews
Migene Gonzalez-Wippler
Sandra Kynes
A great fiction series that entertains as well as educates about Wicca and other Pagan religions is Isobel Bird's "Circle of Three." It basically follows three high school friends throughout their year and a day study to become Wiccans. As they learn about Wicca and other Pagan religions, so does the reader.

I'm glad to find people interested in stuff like this; it really pisses me off though that whenever a question like this is asked, those smug Christians come crawling out the woodwork with their dire warnings against anything that isn't in THEIR book.
Ok.......... the Bible - made up of the Old Testament and the New Testament........ the God of the Old Testament is a vengeful, wrathful God of War, while the God of the New Testament is a God of Love.
Some people may be happy worshipping a schizophrenic diety, but I ain't one of 'em!
If we were a little more tolerant of other people's views and beliefs, we might not be living in such a screwed-up world.....

Hi, Read the Boudica quartet by Manda Scott. It is a fascinating insight in how the Brtish tribes lived and worshipped before the Romans came and wiped out the Druids at Anglesey.
Manda Scott, the author is also involved in courses of "Dreaming" which is how the pagan's/Druids interpreted/spoke to their Gods.
Check out the authors website for more info.

A good list of books about the Druids (and other Celts) is at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celtic_Reconstructionist_Paganism#Bibliography
Other good books for Paganism in general would be Martgot Adler's "Drawing Down the Moon" and Ronald Hutton's "Triumph of the Moon."

Thanks for asking such a great question. I have a great answer for you also. Go to the Library of Congress' website at: loc.gov and post your question there. Celtic rituals and history is the oldest in the known world. Older than China and the Egyptians both. Good fortune and luck with your projects.
