Why can't Americans include the people of other countries in Veteran's Day? Filipinos around the world that have fought and served with the Americans are still waiting for RECOGNITION for years. YEARS. Not just Filipinos but other people of different countries also! Many people have helped the Americans in many wars such as WWI, WW2, Vietnam War and other wars! They didn't just fight them all by themselves! WHO AGREES?

of course we're looking for recognition from the americans. It's not all about them. It's not about America winning all the wars,, it's about the allies AND America that won the wars.

+ I believe that we recognize the other nations that help in conflicts, but not on veterans day. I believe that is done on V-E day and V-J day or Loyalty day. How would you have us recognize other nationals? What specific act or proclamation would you have us make? I also think that they have their own national holidays one of which might be a veterans day.
Some people view it as you do that many nations help the US. Many also view it as the US helps many other nations. I would ask you to take a look at how many other countries came to our aid during Hurricane Katrina or any other national catastrophe that we have endured? Then take a look at how much we are still helping from the tidal waves in the Indian Ocean, and every other natural disaster around the globe. If you need to, try to do a percentage of aid per population as they do for us on News television for each country. I spent the majority of my time raising money for disabled veterans this last weekend and I do the same on Memorial day weekend. I sure hope you were not out having a grand old time with a day off with pay. I refuse to feel guilty for being an American. Sorry, but I can't agree with you on this one.

If they are American citizens they are recognized .
They fought every day of their military service to be called Americans. On the battlefield all military personnel are American.
All veterans served , fought and some died as Americans all over the wold.
Why break them into races or countries of origin now?

Is it for them you ask or for your own pat on the back to claim some form of recognition for they accomplishments?

Why don't the Fillipinos recognize their OWN veterans. I love visiting foreign countries, but what I HATE about foreigners is that they're always looking for some kind of recognition from America. They want us to speak their language, pat them on the back, etc... Recognize yourselves and stop looking for Americans to care about you.

So what's wrong with Filipinos having a national holiday to honor their veterans? America is not stopping them!

You expect America to have holidays for every country's service members? That's ridiculous!

Yeah, and the Chinese, too. And the Eskimos. Why isn't everybody included? And why don't those Americans celebrate Transylvanian Independence Day?

I will say that they don't get enough recognition. If they are citizens of the US then they will get recognition but other countries don't value their contributions as we do.
