I don't think there is anything wrong with children being born to men 46-55+. I have 2 children and when the first child was born my husband was 53 and when the second child was born he was 56. I am 26. Both my children are just fine and nothing is wrong with them.

No there is not a serious risk, however, men in that age range have a higher risk of birth defects in their children due to lower genetic variation in the sperm cells as a result of reduced meiosis.
