I can't stand Christians and their hypocrisy. What are some things you could say to them when they try to make you look bad and put you on a guilt trip? They go around talking about their morals and ideals and condemn other people to hell for not living up to them, but then they go and do the same things that they preach not to do. Then when you call them on it, they deny it or they go to their cover-all catch phrase, "Nobody's perfect!". I can never think of a good comeback that won't end up making me look bad. I especially cannot stand people that are otherwise cool people, real people who are down to earth, but then they get all touchy if you insult their religion. And I'm thinking, "You rebel, you have sex, drink, etc, etc. and now you suddenly stand for these backwards Christian values?" If these people really believed this stuff, then they would be priests or nuns. What are some comebacks or things you can say to a Christian when they start getting all prudishly moral on you?

I just argue about the existence of God and such, most of the Christians I know aren't very good at defending an Atheists' arguments for the creation of the Earth and Evolution etc.

Been there done that, when I was a lot younger, it used to get me really frustrated , I also haven't learnt a lot about control since then, I have had numerous violations from yahoo religious category to prove it!
However the Christians do have a few very weak spots, same as all other religions.
You will have noticed by now that its all about 'faith' nothing to do with logic, so it is pointless arguing on those grounds.
Now back to the common weak spots, they all love to preach, but their real problem is that they don't understand their own religion. But to take advantage of this situation, you must understand their religion. And always ask a question, don't preach always ask, they like that, they can smell a 'convert' a mile off !
You seem to have a particular 'thing' about Christians, (OK cant see anything wrong with that )!
Now the thing to do is, instead of looking for confrontation, ask questions, but really know the answers yourself, (don't ever brag about knowing, they will do enough of that). Take my word for it 'they' don't know anything at all about their religion, they just spout BS.
Back to the Christians, look up yourself in your search engine, (or anywhere you like ) Holy Trinity. Learn what it means, ask a Christian what it means!
That is 'ASK' not tell , see what answers you get!
A simpler one is ask a Christian "What do I need to believe to be a Christian"??
I can give you a short answer as a starter.
A Christian belives That Jesus was ( and still is) God. Jesus was (and still is) his own Son, Jesus was (and still is) the Holy Ghost. Thats easy enough isnt it?
If they dont believe all this they are not Christian.
Remember the object of this excercise is not to shoot any one down esp in public, not many Christians actually turn the other cheek, you are only asking, then you can ask a bit more when they give you a 'waffle' BS answer and tell them your read an article from where ever, which contradicted the statement they have just made. I am sure the subject of religion will very soon dry up.
This little theory of mine does not just apply to Christians, I'm pretty well convinced none of these religious followers know what they are supposed to belive in, or why.
Hope this helps?

From what you have described, I don't believe you have spoken with any "true" Christians. In addition, where does it say that we are supposed to stop being everyday people... that we should all be priests or nuns? I'm sorry, I know this question wasn't meant for me. I'm more sorry that you haven't met anyone who isn't "prudishly moral" or self promoting. A real Christian will say things to help you realize your own worth... and of course God's.... not theirs. It's about love. Take care.

I think that the "Christians" you are refering to are a little backwards.
NO ONE has the right to judge or to condemn.
Oh, and why would you ever feel guilty? The fact that you feel guilty is telling.
If I were you I would say this: You do it your way, I'll do it mine and in the end we'll see who's right. Then walk away.
By the way, I'm Christian. And I don't push my religion on anyone. I don't feel it's right. People can believe what they want.

its not only about Christians dear, we have a lot of these miserable people in all over the world.. its just they don't use their brains not even once and they try to show that " they know many things" or " they r not brainless" but from inside believe me they r very nasty two faced people , just ignore them . its no worth wasting your time listening to people that are repeating what they had memorized from books! and remember, if these people had attitude they could understand that religion is a personal thing not a way to show of how good or bad somebody is!!

Personally, I sometimes point out their own contradictions if they get personal about it with me. I like to make them confront their own beliefs. I know the Bible better than many Christians. Almost all Christians that I know really cherry pick what Christian teachings they want to follow and which they tend to overlook. Once you have pointed some obvious contradictions they tend to be much less self assured about throwing rocks when they start to realize they live in glass house.

No church has it one hundred% good, yet all Christians have a private duty to artwork out their own salvation with worry and trembling. If u r convicted with the help of the scriptures to do or not do something, then exercising your faith with the help of responding to that. Your occasion will help convince others, greater so than with the help of argument. The time to chat would be while u r asked approximately your occasion. then you definately can clarify from an ideas-set of humility...

just tell em to get out of your face, and inform them that it might do them a bit of good to get pissed or layed once in a blue moon. I've had bad experience with evangelists, and find them to be exactly like you say...prudish...smug...hypocritical...self satisfied...holier-than-thou. They claim to have found god but a good number of the evangelists i've met seem like lost souls...

I laugh in their faces and walk away. People like that can believe what they want to believe, but they can't make me believe it.
