Being a moderate you can take the good from each political spectrum and leave the bad. Party lines mean a little less and the good of the country becomes the focus. Many have said I don't have any view because I'm a moderate, but I disagree. My views do not need to be hindered by party affiliation. So I will spell out my "views" on major issues.

War On terror- I do believe that we need to stay on the offensive, but I don't like the war in Iraq. Iraq has become a beacon for terrorist. I think we need to clean it up now, but we were wrong to go in the first place and I do feel we were misled. I think in the future, we need to treat terrorist like a cancer. We don't need to invade most of these countries. Use intelligence and Special Forces to fight this threat.

Abortion - I am pro-choice for the country and pro-life for my personal belief. I don't think my view should be forced on the entire country.

I believe in smaller government and welfare reform.

You really answered your own question. To me being a moderate means keeping an open mind. It means being able to see more than one point of view on any issue. It means not holding any extreme position on any issue: not too far to the left and not too far to the right. To me it also means being tolerant of other peoples' opinions even when they don't agree with your own.

Generally, it means not being extreme. There are two types of moderates in politics.

A true moderate is someone who doesn't hold any (or many) extreme views, on any subject. They are open to rationally consider and make decisions based on what is best in each situation.

A faux moderate, on the other hand, often holds many extreme views. However, roughly half of those are at either end of the political spectrum. So, while they are just as extreme about any particular view as anyone else, they average out in the middle overall.

I agree with you. Except that I'm pro-choice because of my personal beliefs not just for the country. You and I share most of the same beliefs. I also want smaller government and welfare reform. Don't listen to those who say moderates are fence sitters who don't take stands. The election of 2006 proved that moderates are here to stay.

Funny that Democrats and Republicans don't understand that their platforms are not accepted by everyone.

I love that the GOP is "for" smaller government yet wants the government to legislate morality.

I love that DNC is "for" civil liberties but not the right to bear arms.

But since we do not fit into their hypocritical views then they assume we have no views. Yet we are 48% of the population.....idiots
