I work retail, as a clerk...I have been with this company for over 4 years...yet they refuse to give raises!! I have only received a .25 raise the whole time! This raise was broken down into 2 raises, not all at once..Am I crazy to keep hanging on? or should I just wait and see with our minimum raise going up again in January??

That does bite but company policies and rules you should know about. Wait till January it isn't far behind. If you are not satisfied then, you might want to consider a different job of same pay at least. and find out about the pay raise policies ..

What are your options? See if you can find another job that pays more - if there are no other jobs, then that is why your employer is not giving you a raise.

Perhaps you can try to become manager, with more responsibilities you get more $$.

BTW, I work for a huge corporation, we didn't get raises for 3 years, when a company is struggling for survival, raises may not happen.

Are others working with you getting raises? Is it just you? Do you come in on time, work while you're there, are you a good employee? If you have great qualities, find someone who will compensate you for it.

Well, if this is a small business then it's tough .. most small businesses margins are small and every additional expense (such as raises) adds to their overheads and could push them to a point of unprofitably. If they can easily hire OTHER people at the same amount that they are paying you then it does not make sense to give you a raise UNLESS you are willing to take on other responsibilities that will relieve the owner and make it worth it for him or her to pay you more.
