That's a tough one!

I assume Hillary would be my president in that case.

Let me think about it.....

OK. I am Republican and I would have to say I would want good majorities in both houses of Congress. We did a great job of getting our policy objectives in the 1990's with Mr. Clinton.

True, Clinton stole the credit that belonged to Republicans in Congress for things like the balanced budget and welfare reform but I don't care who gets the credit so long as we get good government. Republicans under Clinton did a great job of getting what they wanted. They shoved it all down his throat or made him veto good legislation that cost him popularity points and Clinton hated to do anything unpopular.

Clinton was a big loser on the policy issues though he undeniably won on the politics. That dirtbag would probably be elected again if he was allowed to run.

As far as foreign policy goes -- not the Democrats strong suit to say the least -- I think even Mrs. Clinton would have to accept the reality that Muslim crazies are trying to kill us and will eventually use a WMD on us at their very first opportunity.

I am glad we don't have to make these kind of choices in real life. I do think the Republicans will take back congress and they will also destroy Hillary Clinton.

No way is that lady ever being elected President. It just won't happen.

What an interesting question! To tell the truth, I think I'd rather keep the Congress (I'm a Dem.) because I don't think we have anyone really ready for the presidency. Hillary is too polarizing, and in my opinion Barak Obama could be president, but needs some more experience. Also, I think this past 6 years has shown how disasterous it can be to have one party rule in DC. I'm not at all sure I want to go there again. I'm hoping that this next 2 years will bring about a new era of both parties working together, getting along, actually listening to each other and the people, and making some progress for a change.

Thank for asking!

I'm a Rep:

I would like to see reps in congress and a Democratic President for a while. I am not afraid of having Hillary for president as many of my republican friends are.. I trust that the US is ready for a woman leader. I think women are more level headed and less clouded by distractions like sex, power, ego.

Difficult to say, it depends on who's running. A charismatic popular president is the best option. If he's a doofus, then I want the Congress. It was a Rep congress & Dem President that balanced the budget.

I would prefer they keep congress. That way with the Iraq war the blame will go on the president. I'm a democrat.

For once, a good question...

as a Dem, I'd take the White House because it's followed more closely by the American public and the world. But I'm not in power. I'm happy that there's some balance now between the two major parties.

Yes to both. Historically, when the Presidency and Congress are controlled by opposing parties, the country seems to be better. Checks and balances is always the best when it comes to government.

I would prefer that the Democrats not rescind the tax cuts, now that I am finally making a decent living. I don't care about the inheritance tax, since I don't own a farm (but I feel sorry when a farmer dies and his family can't keep the farm due to inheritance taxes).

Depends on how much damage gets done before then.

If this new Congress does what I think it will do, the US might finally be ready for an Independent President.
