No one has ever hit a homerun over 600 ft. in a major league game. The longest homerun ever was Mantle's at 565, and the longest this year was 498 ft, either by Ryan Howard or Alfonso Soriano, I can't recall.

In this baseball playstation game I had like 5 yrs. ago, there was a cheat code you could use that would always make you hit HR's and I hit numerous balls around 700-800 feet and my friends reaction would be hilarious ("How in God's name are you hitting it that far??", and then he'd get so mad) so ummm...oh you meant in reality...rrrrright..uhhh I remember the HR you're talking about, I saw it on SportsCentury, I'm pretty sure Big Mac hit a couple just as far or further.
Bonds probably too.

Well, you hear stories. I read one in a book where Josh Gibson Left Yankee Stadium once, the Ball went clear OVER the Facade in right Center and out of stadium, sum 750 feet. In one of those invitation games negroe league teams played in MLB parks. But who knows. I know i saw with my own eyes Andres Gallaragas, while he was with Atlanta, he hit one in florida against the Marlins that landed on the very TOP deck way up on top of the seat covering in left center field...i mean, the entire building Gasped, there was alot of "Oh my god!" heard in the stadium. And whats so freaky is how fast the ball got out. I mean it seemed like he hadnt dropped the bat finishing his swing and the ball had landed. But i guess you hit sumthing THAT hard, it's going to exit THAT fast.

The comparison would not be fare today. In the early 60's and before no one was juiced up on drugs. Today all of the so called great hitters are using. Mark used tons! No doubt about it when you look at his numbers. He spiked for a few years then dropped like a rock when they started to enforce drug testing then he quit baseball. So to compare the greats of yesteryear to today's players is an insult to true greats.
