I depends on how bad you need a WR and what other QB you have.

On average Palmer will put up more points that Smith, but if you really need a quality WR and have a good QB that can replace Palmer it might be a good trade.

Remember it's not about the names, it's about the points. Steve Smith may be the best WR in some leagues depending on how points are set up, but in my ESPN league Smith is rated as #12.

No! Carlson Palmer may get better through the 2006-2007 year, but Steve Smith is one of the best receivers in the NFL.

If you can get a guy like Steve Smith for the stretch run I'd do it...if i had another option at QB.

If i was the one getting Palmer...i'm not sure if i'd pull the trigger.
