Not really. In fact, the current occupation of Iraq doesn't have anything to do with the reason we went over in the first place.

We're doing nothing more than baby-sitting the country, and acting as its local police force, while it's in the middle of a civil war. There is no evidence, none, that says anything we're doing there has any effect on global terrorism. It's purely politics and empire-building.

Iraq has everything to do with freedom in America, and in the rest of the free world. I just don't understand how people DONT understand this. The troops took this fight to this area in the middle east so we don't have to fight them in America. why don't you find the transcripts for the special show they did on Fox recently called "Obsession" If you want your eyes opened big time, you watch this show. Of course it is going to get worse before it all gets better, but whats a freedom-loving country to do? Give in? Wear Burkahs (sp), learn Arabic? America is large enough and has a strong enough military to fight this war, its a different kind of war, but we have no choice. We have the responsibility to fight this, and we can. I guess we need another 9/11 to make the naysayers understand the price we will pay if we don't fight?

They think they have to kill us to get to heaven. We cant negotiate peace with that. What do we say to them..."OK, terrorists, we will let you kill us in 5 years instead of right now, how's that?!" Iraq is central to the war on terror. Once ( and it will happen) it is more stabilized and democratic in that region, it will stabilize the rest of the areas. Think about this? Why are the axis of evils happy the democrats are semi-in-charge right now? Are these the groups you want to align yourself with then?

No the whole situation sucks. I have a friend who just left today with the National Guard to head there. Our soldiers are dying everyday for a war that most Americans do not even want. The voting polls prove that.
