Because as a child you wonder what you can do at an older age..Now that im older i wish i was younger..b/c after a while things get old to u and u run out of things to do. I'm 17 now and wish i was 10 again..ur imagination starts to fade away as u get older and as a child u have a creative imagination. also, as a child u wanna drive a car get a job so u can have your own money, and have a boyfriend, and when u do grow up u find out that its not that great, but havin sumone to be with everyday is comforting. I enjoy being older, because i can do more, go more places and hang with friends more often and I dont have a bedtime...tell your neices and nephews that they wanna stay young...tell them to be patient...

Not all kids are in such a hurry, but most are because they sick of being told what to do and want to have more control over there lives. They getting tired of doing what there told and see being older as a way to get out of it. there searching for there freedom and growing up to them is the easiest way for them to reach it.

When I was youger I couldn't wait to be able to do so many things. I think that little kids want to grow up fast because adults have the freedom to do so many things, yet kids don't really have that freedom. Also, for some odd reason, it might just make them feel cool or more mature to be able to do somethings that adults do. For example: drink coffee. But I would never suggest smoke. I think smoking is the worst thing a kid could think is cool. Yet if children really think about it, growing up isn't all that fun. You should explain to them a lot of things grown-ups have to go through. Then maybe they'll change their mind! :)

Well, I am 16 & it some ways, yes, I do want to grow up so I can own my house, get a job that I enjoy, fall in love, & have kids. But I also want to stay young because I dont want to drive or pay bills or be alone. But I do want to be independent and go to college and buy a house and get my own dog and cat and most likely adopt a baby. There are so many reasons to move forward & get older & so many reasons to pause and stay where we are becuase there will be more responsibilities & more obstacles & things to overcome as you get older. But I can only speak for myself :)

Because parents today thrust too much responsibility on young children. Five year olds come home from school, let themselves in and fix their own snack. All cause mommy and daddy are working to make lots of $$$$ to buy a big house, fancy cars and jewelry and act like a they are "sucessful" In fact they are failures with their children. God bless the next generation that have no idea what a normal happy family is.

Because we are tired of being young and looked down upon. Everyone's telling us we are too young, to immature, too inexperienced, and what have you. There is a legal age for a lot of things now;to answer your question we are looking forward to bypassing these ages. We Cant drink, cant smoke(please understand that I do not condone smoking and never will), cant vote, cant even play the damn lottery. I'm tired of being treated like an inferior.

We're in a hurry to grow up because we get mad at our parents or family and sometimes just want to get out. We're looking forward to someone finally not looking over our shoulders being able to be adults be respected and not talked down to.

well as we grow up you get less restrictions, also we see adults and it looks as if adults have no problem, that life is just one big party to them, and they just want to be like that. See how that makes sense? i mean adults dont have hw, or any of that crap to deal with, then as we grow older though new loads of crap come along. Basically its a you want what you cant have sort of thing, and i bet you were the same way.

I use to want to grow up because i wanted to drive a car or get a job or something crazy like that. Now that i'm sixteen and can do both, i wish i was a little kid again. But right now, i sort of wish i were eighteen. Then i could have more things to do. It all depends on the kid.
