I quited my job when I found out the company was practicing illegal activities. When I addressed the situation to the CEO, he advised me that " Too late you already signed the contract" I am not sure what kind of attorney I need to hire.

I doubt that confidentiality agreements are meant to protect companies engaged in illegal activities. He was probably trying to scare you so you will keep quite about what you discovered, I doubt he will take action against you for quitting. Good luck and thank you for being ethical!

What type of illegal activities are you talking about?
If they are serious in nature--theft, fraud, severe overt discrimination, tax evasion, and you were morally upset enough to quit, then why haven't you contacted the appropriate government agency.
It doesn't sound like you worked there long, report them if you must, but I would just chalk it up as a learning experience and find a new job.
