I have a problems with the defenition of LOVE as "putting the wants and needs of others above your own".

As a father, I certainly love my children unconditionally, but their wants and needs ARE my own... usually. Needs, certainly. Wants? Sorry, but my kids want far too many things that are no good for them at all, and as their father I tell them so.

For those of you that believe in God, does God put everybody else's wants & needs above his own? Certainly not everybody's... serial killers and pedophiles come instantly to mind. Yet God loves us unconditionally, as his children.

Love is affection, caring & compassion. When you love someone, you want only the best for them, even though you may sometimes choose to let them learn something "the hard way" in pursuit of the greater good.

I love you all. :-D

you'd want to be with her in spite of the fact that she does not respond to your love interest. you'd wish for her happiness even if it be in the arms of another person. love is unconditional.
