So I have this video of Deerhoof live that I want to put on Youtube. Except it's currently 347mb and thus about 15 times over youtube's limit. How can I make the video smaller and with what program?

The video size is currently 640x480, I'm thinking it'd help to make that smaller? If so what's the best (free) program to use?

Convert it to a mpg file or a DVD
Video editors like Ulead or Pinnacle's Studio 9 do an excellent job for that.
