Just imagine having another family and a man you've never met move into your home. Now you all have to live there for years, but you can have no outside contact, no friends, no phone, no mail, no ANYTHING. You can't even look out your window. You can't talk loud. You can't go shopping. You can't even sing. All you can do is remain quietly within the confines of your house. All this is because you belong to a particular group of people that you were born into, not because you chose it. Now ask the question again.

No one had "their space" or any real privacy. Food was scarce and not particularly to their liking. They were all very different people and had to make allowances for the annoying habits of all the others. Mr. Van Damme was used to getting his own way at all times and the confinement was especially hard on him. The dentist found Anne irritating and had to lash out a few times. Boredom, hunger, confinement, lack of activity, lack of privacy, and clashes in chemistry were their main problems.

Read the book.
Being cooped up all day not able to move or go to the bathroom is the biggest one but there were scores of other problems like modesty, etc.

Keeping quiet, getting food and water, keeping clean, getting news of the outside world, etc. They had some helpers. See wikipedia for a quick summary of it all.

Look it up, you're on the internet. Do your own HW. And if you don't already know the answer to that question, then I suggest reading your social studies book again.
