or look up the local department of transportation web sites and they will give road closings, construction areas, etc.

There are lots of weather WWW sites but why not just listen to the radio?
What country are you in? That has an impact.
(Note these WWW sites are not really computer programs to do the pridiction. A calculation program would take more than a day to get the prediction for the next day on your labtop. Weather prediction computationally unstable.)

She can log onto the internet, and then go to http://www.usroadconditions.com/ to check the roads.
Also, most truckstops have the westher channel on 24 - 7.
