Straight Edge?

I know a little about what they don't do, but what are all of the things a straight edge person will give up, or do differently?

They will give up self. Self is our biggest enemy. It wars against our spirit. We must be born again. If you don't like your life get born again,seriously. You cry out to God and say "God Who am I? What is going on here? I am in a mess" Your faith reaches out to Him. He sees your faith. He is Holy, so He can't see you. He comes and makes you all over again. This time He puts His spirit in you. He makes you look like Him. When He sees you now He sees Him.You give up your life and He takes over. Would you like to be like God? He leads you now. Your flesh don't lead you anymore. All things are brand new. The creator lives in you now. You have His wisdom. Man, what a life.

Straight edge is not about giving things up but about making your life better. It's a personal decision that one makes because they believe that drugs & alcohol are substances that will hold them back. It dosn't make you better than someone else. It's a choice.

Straight edge just involves living a drug free, alcohol free lifestyle. It really doesn't have an exact guidlenes but they may hang out in scenes typically thought of to be anti-norm, but won't participate in the "bad" parts of that. Like a straight edge punk...they may fight society, but they do it in proactive ways...but can have some mean fight in them!
