If you have been affected by GBS in a previous pregnancy, or you are found to be carrying it in your current pregnancy, talk to your midwife or obstetrician and agree a pregnancy/birth plan that will protect your baby from the infection. In the vast majority of cases pregnancy can be managed so your baby is protected and born healthy and free from GBS. For more information about GBS, talk to your midwife or doctor or contact Group B Strep Support.

You will always have strep B. In my first two pregnancies it was not spotted in my third I nearly lost my daughter and in my fourth I had the injection as soon as labour started. Make sure everyone is aware that you have strep b has it can be fatal.. My Midwife told me I would always be a carrier.

i was told i had group b strep in my 3rd pregnancy and when i had my 4th i was told that i wouldnt get re tested for it cos they said even if it showed negative it could come back between getting the test results and going into labour so they treat every pregnancy as if u still have it and give u the antibiotics, i had to stay in hospital for 2 days so they could keep an eye on the baby to, so u should expect to be treated as if u still have it anyway, better safe than sorry.

100% - and make sure they know! I'm a carrier and although I tested postive during a false labour, they failed to give me drugs when I did go into labour, which resulted my daughter being in special care for a week, and having to lumber punctures by the age of 3 days! Not nice I can assure you!

I'm not sure of the likelihood that you still have it. I would suggest that you opt to receive the antibiotics during this pregnancy as well. Play it on the safe side.

Your chances are near 100% and even if you test negative you may still be treated with antibiotics to be on the safe side.

100%. It's a lifelong thing, not related to pregnancy.
