I did but was so mad as it was at past 11. We were staying at a big hotel and I was at breakfast without a watch. I knew the hotel were announcing the 2 min silence. However, their public address system was so bad it wasn't heard. I thought this an absolute disgrace for such a prestigious establishment. I therefore observed it a few minutes later with my family. Believe me I let the hotel know of my views.

Yes I did and always do. It's not too much to ask is it?

I did notice that as they showed people standing around various war memorials on the tv later that chavs everywhere kept walking and talking along in the background though. Grrrrrr Remind me again, why don't we have national service anymore?

I did, yes - if it wasn't for EVERYONE who gave their lives for the safety and security of this country, I wouldn't have been sitting there with the freedom to choose whether I wanted to observe it!!

Yes I did, although some inconsiderate person rang our work just as it was about to start. So we put her on hold for 2 minutes.

Good Question!
Yes, and I will again tomorrow on the traditional service day. It is the least we can do in remembrance of those who gave their lives for us and their country. I know there are those who say "why should we bother" but if you check back with your families I bet there is not one of us that didn't lose someone in the wars that are commemorated on Poppy Day and remember it is about the wars (plural) not JUST WW1 & WW2;
At the going down of the sun, I at least WILL REMEMBER!

Yes, always have and always will, at Meadowhall shopping and had a hot coffee in my hand but I stood with everyone and paid my silent tribute to those brave men and women who gave their lives for us.
