Posh means upper Class and having Money, Posh stands for Port Out Starboard Home, This goes back to the time of the British Raj in India, As you will know it was a hot sticky sea journey, the cooler cabins were on the Port (Left) side on the way out, as the sun was hitting the starboard (right) side of the ship, and visa versa on the return. The Port out and Starboard home cabins were much dearer, so only the Rich could afford them. Their Cases and Trunks were marked in chalk P.O.S.H that's how the word came about.

Posh refers to someone or an item being high class and exspensive in appearence.
So a porche or a limo would be posh
Or a big attractive house.
Adjective: sumptuously furnished or appointed; luxurious: a posh apartment.
[Origin: 1915–20; of obscure orig.; cf.posha dandy (recorded as British slang in 1890); the popular notion that the word is an acronym from port out(ward), starboard home, said to be the preferred accommodation on ships traveling between England and India, is without foundation]
Hope this helps...

Posh is someone who is uppety and high-class, but in a snobby way. I've heard it be used in more of a negative way.
From the Yahoo Reference desk: "Smart and fashionable."
From the Merriam-Webster dictionary online: "1 : ELEGANT, FASHIONABLE 2 British : typical of or intended for the upper classes : HIGHFALUTIN "
