If your allergic to the animals then they either need to leave or you. His affection for these animals although commendable is perhaps a little unrealistic. Am uncertain as to breeds of animals but sometimes these animals become very jealous when introduced to another new animal to the household (a child) and can act very strange and/or can be a threat to the child's safety. You could try and suggest to your man that you both need to look for good home for the animals, and the new owners would probably even allow you to visit them. Sad that his mother passed away and I'm certain that he feels a great loss and perhaps feels that he is doing something for her by continuing to care for her pets but hopefully once the child arrives he will come to view it as the most important family member and place the animals way down the list, after both child and you. Maybe he has other issues regarding putting them in a shelter and it may be necessary for you both to seek some form of counseling in order to resolve this issue. Hopefully you and he can work this out and come to a compromise that is best suited for each of you. Best of luck and hope you have a healthy happy child that is loved by both parents.

Are the animals aggressive? I had a dog and cat when I had my children - the dog because very protective of the kids. But, every situation is different as is every breed. The animals have been through alot too if they are adjusting to the loss of their original owner then having a new baby in the house - alot of changes in a short period of time. Have you tried discussing the issues with your partner? That's really a tough call - but, my honest opinion - you have to do what is best for you and your child - if you don't feel safe nor supported - then do what you have to do. Also - maybe try going to that Cesar Milano's web site - honestly he might have good information to help you as well.

Good luck and God Bless

Your making a big deal out of this. If your allergic to animals then I could see him having to do something with them, but if your not I don't think it's right to put these animals out on the street when his mother left them to him. There is no way in the world that he's putting these animals before you. Your just being dramatic about this and you want to beleive he is. You'll be making a big mistake by moving out. That would be quite stupid of you to do over a cat and dog. Calm down and just accept the cat and dog. He's not putting them before you.

All this over a cat and a dog, you need your head read, the man lost his mother, and these were her responsibility, and now he has taken it on himself. This world is not all about you. Get a grip

all of this trouble over a dog and a cat, you must have not loved him in the first place if that's all that it takes
