I have one and I know a billion people who have rotweliers and they are the sweetest of all! Just because they are "bigger" does not mean a thing!

My opinion - I think we can blame those owners that have these dogs and mistreat them turning them vicious. They want to own a "big bad dog" as a status symbol and then degenerate their normal behavior so that they get their "hood" dog. It is a tragic and ignorant thing to do to an animal that by nature is lovable, amiable and a great family addition. I have owned 2 females (lost one to age and one to a broken blood vessel in the spine) and currently have a third one - they are great with the kids and neighbors, are extremely intelligent and gentle. The only issue I have is that she seems to feel that everyone wants to pet and love on her. (Big Smile!) Oh...I have had to learn to live with the slobber after she drinks from her bowl - WHAT A MESS!!!!!

They suffer the same bad press as pitt bulls. Someone had a bad one, and it got into the news or something. I know a couple of 'Spoiled Rottenwilers' as their owner calls them, and they're great dogs, loyal, and sweet. They are also great watchdogs. They let you know someone who isn't supposed to be there, is.
Kinda like saying all overweight people are slobs. Some can't help it...I'm crippled. I used to exercise and can't. I understand where you're coming from!

they are smart, but also if a person let's them they will
