Blood tests can detect hcg at 7 days past ovulation. Home tests can detect hcg at 10 days past ovulation. But with both tests the longer you wait the more accurate the results will be. At 10 days past ovulation a home test is only about 60% accurate whereas if you wait til 14 days past ovulation a home test is closer to 95% accurate.

It varies from woman to woman and even from pregnancy to pregnancy in the same woman. No test will be positive (unless a false positive) until after implantation as this is when production of hCG begins. The time it takes for implantation to occur varies (I've read 6-10 days after ovulation on average) and even after implantation normal hCG levels in very early pregnancy vary. So I'd say wait until at least 7 or 8 days past ovulation to try even the most sensitive home tests but remember that even if you are pregnant there is a good chance of a negative result when testing that early.

Urine pregnancy tests are usually 1st day of your missed period but you can now get one called first response which can test upto 4 days before you are due on. If you do a urine pregnancy test and it comes back negative it may not necessarily be correct try again 3-5 days later as hcg levels rise every few days.
A blood test can be carried out 7-12 days after conception, blood tests are usually more accurate but you have to go to your doctor for one.
Hope this helps
Good luck xx

I got a posistive test with my daughter 12 days after ovulation. I have seen some earlier but if your testing before 14 dpo then it's posible to get a false negative. Most tests are advertising 5 days before a missed period so that would be 9 dpo. But if you were having symptoms and got a negative I still wouldn't trust it. It's alway best to wait until you miss your period for a trustworthy result.

It depends on the test, and if you know when you ovulated. I got a positive test at 10 days past ovulation. This site has lots of info about the sensitivity of different brands of tests: www.peeonastick.com.

blood tests. The urine tests that detect earlier are only 60% effective.
Request blood work from your doctor.
