Why do we as a country allow the use of the Electoral College. This only takes away from americans. Does our government think were so stupid that we as a people cant figure who is best for the job of president. If an Independent was to get Two Hundred Million votes from the people the Electoral College would still give the Job to a Democrat or Republican. I as an American know that this is not what our Fore Fathers intended. What can we the people do to change or fix this Problem?

Because the Constitution requires it. Read Article I, and the 12th Amendment. Unless we change the Constitution, we're stuck with it.

But the problem isn't the electoral college itself. It's how electoral votes are allocated relative to the state popular votes. Each state determines how its electors much vote, based on what happens in the state. So, change the state laws, and you change the way the electoral college works.

The simplest solution is to either make the state electors always vote based on the result of the national popular election (which only works if all states do that), or to change the allocation so that it is proportional based on the state vote, rather than all-or-nothing. This latter model is used by one or two states, and works better than the other fix, because it doesn't require that all states immediately follow suit.

The electoral college brings a balance among the states. If everyone in New York and California voted for a specific candidate, they would dominate the election. Many less populated states have varied interests and needs -apart from the very populated ones. The electoral college provides these states a voice in a national election.

It's an easy way to control the outcome of any particular election. You should have seen by now just one or two states determine the outcome.
Also it is an easy way to over ride the majority vote! American is not a country ruled by the people but by BIG BUSINESS! This has always been a Fascist Country even though the Constitution I believe is a Divine Instrument.
