I'm in the same situation. I have to get a shower asap and I don't want to get up from here. I can't call in dead. I'm the only one doing my job today.

if you truely do not want to go to work call in and say your not up to par thats all a little white lie but your not dead by all means lol, and really should be going to work, I mean what would you do all day anyways, chat on the internet, be bored sleep some more, eat until you can't eat no more, take your time and go to work and get paid to sit there and do nothing, or sorry do your job!

no you cant (good one though)
an important family matter has came up and you cant make it in today
that's only if your serious of staying home today
i normally work every other saturdays
but today is my day off and i'm enjoying every second of it
i know your feeling.
i go through it every other saturday
only hoping to be able to stay home and enjoy the day like all you friends and family.
