A texas mother who killed her two babies was tried by jury and found not guilty by reason of insanity. The Texas Department of mental health has now declared her "cured" and released her. She spent 4 years in a hospital and now is totally free subject to monthly testing to make sure she continues her meds. Her babies are dead. She could have more children if she desires. Do you think justice has been served ???

An article in the paper this morning said that although she had only been tried on the death of one of the children, both killings occurred at the same time and since she was found legally "insane" both killings were covered by the same verdict.

No justice is not served. There was a similar case here in Illinois. She drowned her 2 babies found not guilty by reason of insanity. She was pronounced cured and released. She remarried and had 2 more children that she also killed. Now she is confined to a mental institution for life. Four children dead and for no reason.

Let my start by saying there is no justice for the dead. Its a sad but true fact.
If this is the case I'm thinking of this woman has some serious mental problems....they were documented by more than one shrink before she killed her kids. Please know that I'm not excusing her behavior...she killed her kids and she should have done some serious time for it.
What should have happened is this...she should have been held on a mental, "cured" and then tried. She would probably have had to do a little time that way.
Insanity means that you ACTUALLY didn't know what you were doing was wrong. It is usually only used with people suffering diagnosed schizophrenia.
I was a bit surprised by the verdict in that case too...but I think she was only tried for some of the deaths...the DA could still charge her with the other deaths and it won't be double jeopardy.

Not at all, this is so totally typical of the justice system, thieves seem to get more time, than hard core criminals. Its really sad, and she killed her babies, and so many ppl out there want babies and can't have them, very very sad. They should at least make her have sterilization surgery, she should NOT have the right to any more babies.........EVER!!

No, but for a crime that disgusting, there is no justice possible

Her being freed is completely assinine. I don't even understand these people, who just say, oh, your fine, you can go free. Makes you wonder in what direction this world is heading
