I have padded my fireplace moved all glass things out of her reach, but she is still coming out with knots and bruses on her head. What else can I do to the house to make it safe?

Its part of her age really. As she becomes more mobile and is learning how to sit and stand and walk, she'll fall and bruise herself.

Aside from keeping her contained and emptying all the rooms she plays in.. theres not much you can do.

it will pass though. Its just part of this stage of life.

There's only so much you can do. Invest in the child safety padding for corners of furniture, like coffee and end tables. Make sure she's in confined spaces .. such as shutting doors to cut off access to other rooms. And keep her in eyesight at all times. You'll soon see where the bruises are coming from and be able to prevent access to it, or take further safety measures.

Just wait til she starts running ;)

Buy a baby pen/gate; it resembles the gate that goes at the top of stairs, but it goes in a circle to surround her. That will prevent her from getting into everything and give you a little more freedom, so you won't have to sit there and watch her 100%

My third boy is now in this stage. I think you can only do so much. It sounds like you have done what you can, but she is still figuring out what her environment is all about. I think that calls for a few bumps & bruises here and there.

You must go through the house again to make sure it is truly child proof you might have overlooked a few things

Get your house "baby-proofed." There are companies in the yellowpages that do nothing but this. Small price to pay to have the piece of mind.

just what you are doing, it might help if you got on the floor and saw things from her perspective. It is only the beginning, wait til she starts riding a bike. Best of luck !!

Place a big mattress where she can romp. Put all her toys there ..Don't give her small toys, she'll swallow them..and always be on the watch. Put aside all work.
