is my baby to small?

i have a 16 month baby girl. she is about 2ft 3in. and wieghs about 20 lbs. she is so short. she just now started fitting 12 month clothes. i am 5ft 2in and her father is abou5ft 4in. what do you think? is something wrong? everything else is normal about her

my husbands daughter from previous marriage had a thyroid problem which was keeping her from growing and now takes medicine for it and is fine. i had her tested and the results were fine

She is very small--well below average but if her pedi isn't concerned then I'm sure she's fine. She will probably just be a person of small stature.

Thyroid dysfunction would certainly explain it--continue to have her tested every 6 months or so just in case a problem does develop.

My sister's little boy is 18 months, and is just now able to wear size 12 months. she is about 5'4" and her husband is maybe 3 inches taller. I don't think there is anything wrong with her, she is just going to be short.
At least it isn't the other way. I am 5'2" and my husband is 6'9", our 4 year old comes almost up to my shoulders. My 2 year old comes up to my waist. They are both very tall for their ages, and both girls. Now we are pregnant again, we find out Monday what we are having, Knowing my luck, we will have a boy, and he will be as tall as I am! LOL, I hope not! At least both of our girls like basketball!!

If she's been tested then it sounds like nothing is wrong. Especially considering the size of her parents.

Your doctor would be able to tell you if there was any true concern. All babies grow at different rates, and according to different genetic designs.

If the Dr. says everythings ok, I wouln't worry, she's probably going to be small.

She is just petite like you and your husband.
