Harvard, Boston U are in Massachusetts, which is within your range, however you don't have to go outside Rhode Island to find good universities. Brown, an ivy league school, is located in Providence, R.I. Also, the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) is one of the best design colleges in the country.
