They are both broadband, the different is that one is faster than the other, and one is a dedicated line. I would recommend DSL, yes it's slower than cable but with cable you are sharing your line with your neighborhood, wheneveryone is accessing it at the same time it will slow down and you have a higher chance of being hacked and you have less security. If your not worried about those things by all means go with cable internet. But if you want security, sure speeds, and constant rates go with DSL, it takes more work to set up but worth it in the end.

If you want a lower price, consider DSL. If it is NOT available in your area, then you will have to go with cable.

If you want faster speed, go with cable. I have also found that cable is a bit more reliable.

If you do not have cable or DSL in your area, you can go with satellite. Try the Hughes-net service... it's expensive, but I hear that it is pretty good.
