Kinda, 20 answers is already enough, and if someone already said what I was going to say, I'll just go to a different question. I don't need 2 points that bad. But I like your question. You should get 2 points for this.

Don't get discouraged. I have a dial up connection, and am a slow typer, so even if I answer a question as soon as it appears on the screen I will always be at least number twelve in the answers. I gave up trying to be first, and now I'm having a lot more fun. See where I am in your answers? I started as soon as your question was posted. (:-)

Well, if somebody has the same answer I have, then maybe I get sort of discouraged. But I'll answer every question that I take an interest to, no matter the already-posted answers.

Depends on the Q, and what I have to say about it.

If it is a Q like, What is the capital of the USA, and 35 people have already said Washington D.C. then, YES.

If it is an opinion or advice Q,and I think I have a good answer, that has not already been spelled out better by someone else, then NO

If there are already a lot of answers yes it can be discouraging but if I see no one has my angle on the question I usually answer it any way.

Yes, it can be discouraging, especially when the question is a one word answer or mine CAN'T really be that different from 10 other people. I think, how will I get picked best answer? Is my answer all that special or all that different that it is gonna stand out?

After 20+ questions I get discouraged because what I want to say, someone already said it.

Yea I think that most people usually only pick from the first 10 or so... do they even bother to read the next page?

I just answer the question. I know my chances of getting the 10 are much slimmer, but if I have an opinion that's different from everyone else, I give it.
