I go to relax with a couple of drinks and visit with my friends and, depending on the bar, have dinner. I'd like to meet someone, but that's not the main reason I go.

It is almost mandatory if you want to socialize with friends, meet someone, etc. Drinking comes as a by-product because one would not feel "proper" going to a bar and not ordering a drink.

To drink, usually with friends. I wouldn't even consider letting someone pick me up in a bar, wayy too seedy.

Bars are great places to meet people.....if your goal is to meet drunks.
I almost never go, unless a group o friends want to go, or there's a show there I really want to see. (Maybe once a year or less)
