I've heard both terms used. Which is more grammatically correct or can both be used interchangeably?

Unsanitary is correct Insanitary brings thoughts of a persons mental health.

Unless your family live the bathroom ,you should be able to hold on. If you cant then you have been holding on for sometime already, Why? go when you feel the need dont wait til you have to really go,That is bad for your bladder. As for the jar Yuk... But no its no unsanitary as long as u empty it out straight away and wash it out properly & your hands.

"Insanitary" is incorrect, the user may have the negative term for "sanitary" confused with the negative term for "sanity" which is "insanity". The correct term for "not sanitary" is "unsanitary".

"Unsanitary" is the correct usage. As far as I know, "insanitary" is not considered a word, so they would not be interchangeable.
