This is somewhere stuck to our country's security brains that keeping the sikhs (or muslim for that matter) at posts like bodyguards may give access to terrorists element access to VIPs. but I personally think that this should change. It has been a long time that punjab insurgency groups have signed out and more importantly, this means discrimination on basis of relegion and appearence, While "Govt of India is Equal Opportunity Employer"

I think, you are wrongly informed. Some, individuals like you have mentioned may be prejudiced. Our President is Muslim, our P.M. is Sikh, our Army General is sick. Many of our Generals, Air Marshals & Admirals have been Christians. Why should anybody object security staff from these communities. If someone is doing it, he should be immediately be reported to. Indra Gandhi, when she died, had all Sikh security Staff in her entourage.

i do not know about muslims, but sikh are the bravest and the most valued constituent of indian army and para-millitary.
the bias of caste/creed/race and religion does not exist in the army... that is why there is no reservation but only merit.
